Not suited for my water feature

I got this to replace the pump in a water feature, it's just a simple block of granite with a hole up the middle so I thought it should be simple enough. My first impression was the pump is much smaller than I imagined but to be fair the dimensions are on the listing.

I figured I would need some water pipe to run up inside the granite block but the pipe I had did not fit the fitting on the pump and half of the fitting snapped off really easily. I managed to find another pipe to fit the remaining stump but the water reaching the top of the feature had poor flow and the pipe diameter was too small to provide any sort of descent effect. I gave up trying any further as it felt a waste of time and money.

Hit and miss with the battery

This is a replacement fountain for the one purchased last year, which was running all winter, but the pump died. The replacement doesn't seem to have the battery storage of the first one, this makes the water flow in fits and starts when the sun goes down, so after swapping the solar panels and battery and reusing the original purchase it is now running constantly.
I would have given this little solar fountain 5 stars based on last year's purchase, but the performance of this year's purchase it has to be 3.

I deliberately bought a solar pump with a battery but the reality is that this pump is only running when the solar panel is in full sun. I’m currently sat outside at it’s a bit cloudy and the pump is constantly on and off. Possibly a faulty unit.

Update: Disappointed the item just stopped working.
After inspection it looks like the seal has failed, this is surprised me considering it's supposed to be designed to be in water.
Had to return this item for a refund.

I got this to use in a small water feature within our garden, so far I'm happy with the performance. What surprised me is that it still works even on a dull day. You do find the output on a cloudy day is far reduced although what has surprised me is that it still works. It did stop when it went very dark although that’s to be expected as it is solar-powered. On a sunny day, it works perfectly. Good quality product and because of it's built-in battery to assist it makes it great value for money.
In the box, you get the pump and some adaptors to get different water effects and the solar panel.

So after completing my water feature project I realised that the solar found I had repurposed from an old water feature wasn't really up to the job.

As I had installed solar lights, I thought it would be good to get a new pump that had a battery so it would work for a while after the sun went down and would look good with the water cascading in the illumination.

After some searching through Amazon I saw this one and was attracted by the description and other reviews with the further promise of about an hour's function after "dark".

The installation is very simple and comes with various attachments for different types of water projection, although many seem similar, it gives more of a different height of the projection rather than a different display.

I water proofed the frame using aluminium self adhesive tape to make sure water and bugs couldn't get into the solar panel and corrode the wires etc.

All you need to do is put the panel on the ground, attach the pump via the 2 leads that have a water proof connection. Then finally (if you want the pump to float) attach the included black thick foam disc and then your desired fountain attachment. Pop the pump in the water and on contact it will immediately start to work.

It has got considerable power for such a tiny pump and I was impressed.

Personally, I'll have the pump connected to a water feature and the pump will be submerged near to the bottom of the pond so the flotation disc wasn't required.

All in all I was very happy!

But here's the negative.....

As I mentioned in the beginning, the product details clearly state it works for an hour after "dark" which was a selling feature and one that I wanted.

So I arrived home today after it being sunny all day and went into the garden to enjoy a coffee by my new water feature..... But noticed the pump stopped working intermittently.

The sky was fairly clear and still light with blue skies even though it was 19:45.

The pump seems to store up some energy in lower light conditions and then deliver that to the pump for about 30 seconds before cutting off again.

This for me is disappointing as I wouldn't even class it as dusk let alone "dark"... So for me this is either a defective unit or they have made false claims.

Is it easy to set up? YES✅

Does it work well when the sun is out? YES✅

Was it good value for money? YES✅

Does it function in the way it's sold in the description.......NO❌

Some might not be bothered by this but personally, if something says it does a certain thing then I expect it to do it🤷🏻‍♂️ so for this reason is only 3 stars from me.

It’s a very effective small water feature but ours keeps getting blocked.I think it’s because we get a lot of tree debris dropping into our p pond so I have to keep cleaning the pump.Otherwise I’m quite satisfied with our purchase.

This is definitely not high powered in any way. It’s very light and would suit a tiny water feature. The solar panel is fine though and charges well.

Soarpanell ist stabil und groß aber die Pumpe ist sehr klein, höchstens 5cmm auf 5cm. Wollte es zurück schicken aber die Rücksendekosten sind fast so hoch wie der Preis und man bekommt nur 10€ zurück. Ich hatte mich auf den Amazontipp verlassen ist aber nicht Prime gewesen. Hab es jetzt behalten und schau mal, wieviel die kleine Pumpe pumpt.

Der kleine Springbrunnen steht in einer etwas größeren flacheren Blumenschale und plätschert beruhigend vor sich hin.... solange die Sonne da ist. Wenn es bedeckt ist, geht er leider aus. Bei Dunkelheit plätschert auch nach Sonne nichts
