Ive fitted a couple of pop up wastes in the past with no problem, on receipt of this item all looked well for the money paid, so I went ahead and installed, but straight away I had issues with a leak. On inspection I had seepage from the overflow pipe to waste connection whatever I tried it wouldn't stop on removal the seal and connection area could deform very easily the pipe was very flimsy and the seal looked distorted. I had messed about without that much I couldn't send it back so binned in and bought a similar one, iBathUK Bath Overflow Pop-Up Waste TW21 from Amazon for £20. Before i installed i checked the connections all much more sturdy on both seals and pipe, installed no problem no leaks.
Not sure what the longitivtiy on the chrome bits, but on past experience its all about how harsh the cleaning products your using rather than the metal.

In the end i asked a plumber to fit it,, it wasn't the fault of this product but rather the difficulty in removing the old (welded though time) incumbent item.
"Was it rubbish?"
"No, they're much the same!"
I think the item seems to work, and is constructed of chrome on metal not chrome on plastic.
Still as a lay person, i though the quality only okay, not errr? crap!, but okay.

The item comes ready assembled so all you have to do is fit it, which I did in around 30 minutes, including taking the old fittings out. I would say my skill level is average DIY, and as no specialist tools were required this job it was an easy task to complete.

It fits our standard size bath perfectly, looks great, works well and we'll never lose the plug again!

The plug piece can be easily removed for cleaning so no worries about things clogging up.

Overall very pleased with the item and service

This is a proper one. I spent some time looking for one that works correctly. I returned a few because they were complete rubbish and the mechanism did not work correctly. This one works correctly without jamming and it opens the waste enough for the water to flow out freely. I cannot comment on the longevity as I have only just bought it but time will tell.

The product info states that "Standard Size - UK&EU standard G1 1/2" connection, 560mm Cable length, suitable for use with all standard baths." Well I just purchased a UK Standard bath and this unit is too short! If the bath has a waste in the centre rather than at the side this will be too short. Best to check before purchase.

Having spent many, many hours trying to sort the one purchased from B&Q out, and despite trying everything I could think of, it just wouldn’t stop leaking. So I turned to Amazon and found this item. Perfectly reasonable price, the quality feels good, it doesn’t look like it will crack/seize up any time soon and the mechanism for raising and lowering the plug (which is housed completely within the plastic casing) seems like it will last. Most importantly, it fitted in an absolute breeze and didn’t leak at all - over 2 months down the line and it is still holding up perfectly and my wife and daughter can now use the bath again without it leaking into the kitchen! Everyone is happy!

Well packaged / protected fittings & easy enough to install - the leaflet included has a picture key of how to assemble / install it - the picture is small so you might need a magnifying glass or to blow the picture up with your phone depending on your eyesight.

Decent rubber gaskets are included but I'd recommend also using some quality silicone sealant as a belt & braces install.
You will need a 15mm socket to tighten the brass nut that secures the plug strainer to the bottom half of the waste fitting.

You do get a little screwdriver included to secure the screw on to the waste operating knob.

Absolute rubbish, I paid over the odds for an expensive overflow and waste hoping to get more than a week before the chrome started to lift, I have a bath which has tiles for the panel so although it is manageable to get into the bath, its not a job I intended to do again so soon after just putting it back together, only option is a return, as if they are going to now leave me with an unusable bath, that wont be happening. No a happy camper.

If this takes you longer than five minutes to fit there something wrong. You will want a 15mm socket or spanner to tighten the plug fitting and a Phillips screwdriver fit the overflow knob but everything else is hand fit tight.

All fits with standard bath drain. It'll probably take you longer to get your old drain off and clean the bath than it takes to install this.

The waste pipe i bought was fine but there is a part that comes with the waste pipe, the bath plug which had a screw on it and it automatically kept getting loose. After using it for a few months, the screw part became loose again and I forgot to tighten this time, and it fell through the wast pipe. Now the hole system is useless... when you spend that much money you expect a quality item. I spoke to the these guys to send me the faulty part and I have been having issues regarding there product since I purchased.

I expected them to send a screw the tiny part through the post and apologise for the inconvenience. Rather then that they send me a link to purchase the bath plug again for another £8.99.

Haha wow.
