First off, it looks awesome. Like, the decals of the characters, and the custom controller, just make it look amazing. The switch is a great console, and it's incredibly impressive how well they've pulled off the combination of home console and portability.
On the down side, the build quality isn't amazing. The dock especially feels quite cheap, made of thin, brittle plastic, and when docked the switch does rattle quite a bit when moved. However, considering the price, I can understand that Nintendo had to cut corners in this regard, in order to make the switch affordable.
Also, the kickstand is horrible. It holds the switch at a incredibly steep angle so you almost have to hold your head level with it in order to see the screen, it barely holds the switch upright (try using the touchscreen, I dare you) and it pops off very easily.
This probably makes it sound like an awful purchase, but it's worth every penny. Despite its flaws, the switch is awesome.
I preordered this a while ago, fully expecting to be able to play the game when I got the unit. The switch arrived today, and after updating the console and downloading the game I am unable to play it. The game is released in 3 weeks, so I have a rather expensive paper weight till then.
Other than that, the switch is an awesome console, from previous experience.
I love the design and it is a really great product. However, possibly due to a glitch in manufacturing, the left controller stick has a very annoying dead zone where it stops working. If I push all the way to the right the game or menu will stop receiving any input
