The item looked new which was great. I bought it to use with a Piano Learning App. The notes scroll along the screen but with this iPad the screen juddered and this was a big distraction when trying to do the lessons. I bought a newer iPad and it worked perfectly so I know that it was this item that was the problem and not the Piano Learning App. When I returned the item I had to pay the return postage (£8). The return postage was not refunded. I am an Amazon Prime customer and use Amazon a lot. I have never been penalised before for returning an item that was not fit for purpose. Deeply disappointed at being out of pocket. I very rarely leave a negative review but think customers should know that if you return this item, you will have to pay the return postage.

The story of how I got my iPad began back in April 2020 during the early days of the COVID-19 pandemic, when my brother got an iPad (7th gen - 2019 model) of his own for all his D&D needs, and a year later, I decided to buy an iPad as an early birthday present to coincide with me leaving college earlier that summer. The main purpose of having an iPad for me was to listen to music and watch YouTube on it in case my iPhone 8 was charging (because since it doesn't have a headphone jack, you can't plug in your headphones and charge up your iPhone at the same time unlike the previous iPhones - including this iPad - it's one or the other). Furthermore, when I was looking for iPads on Amazon, I originally wanted to buy an iPad Air 2 thinking it would be cheap, but after seeing an iPadOS compatibility list on the Apple website, I noticed that it would be on the verge of being outdated from the next major iPadOS release. So when I looked at the iPad 5th gen, it would be just as cheap (albeit a tenner more expensive), and it would be more up-to-date in terms of iPadOS compatibility.
Continuing with the review, when the iPad was delivered, it came in a generic white box with the iPad encased in bubble wrap, and it was already switched on with less than half the battery life, but it was on the 'Welcome' screen, and after getting it set up, I synced my iPad to my iTunes library on my computer, however the charging cable would constantly make noises and not give my PC a chance to start syncing it (thankfully, this problem didn’t occur when I used some of my other iPhone charging cables. And the iPad wouldn’t charge up while it’s getting synced, but it charges from the main electric plugs just fine, so it’s just the charging cable it came with was faulty, hence why this review has a 4 star rather than a 5 star).
The overall conclusion is that the iPad was and felt great to use, I had no severe technical issues, and recently, the 9.5-inch screen was the right size for me for use as I can enter a passcode with my thumbs on the central axis. The only complaint was that the charging cable it came with was a bit faulty for syncing on my PC, but besides that, it works as expected. Good price, good product, good review, good recommendations. 😊

I had nothing to loose, if it’s terrible I’ll send it back: Refurbished….it’ll have a little used look, but it didn’t and I don’t have to. It turned up when it said it would.
It didn’t have the ‘unwrapping factor’ of a new one but it fulfilled what I needed….. which was a decent iPad that my Father could use to FaceTime my Mother whilst she was in hospital.
It came well package, in a plastic sleeve inside a pre made air filled sleeve ( like bubble wrap but not, it was very sturdy though) and then in the cardboard box.
It came with the battery charged to about 80ish% which I wasn’t expecting, which was good; especially as it does come with a lead but no plug adapter.
He was very happy with his ‘new toy’, even though it’s a bit of a steep learning curve for him as he’s in his 80’s

It came back like it said in the description and photos. Great quality. No scratches and amazing touch screen. Came with everything it needed and came in a lovely packing to keep it safe and protected. It is amazing and I really enjoyed it. Would defo recommend as it was a great price too x

Needed to buy a less expensive iPad, as it’s just for my 98 year old mum to listen to audio books. Great sound on this . Other tablets just don’t have lasting sound quality . Delighted with this tablet

The charging is ridiculous. Doesn’t last more than three hours from 100% charge til it hits 20%. Started charging (at 20%) at 1pm and by 7.45pm it had only got to 79%. The iPad as a whole is good, but the charging aspect is frustrating. I wouldn’t have bothered if I’d had known.

Needed for a specific purpose and seems to work very well having only used Android in the past. Don't understand why you would need anymore. Upgraded to the latest version of IOS (15) without a problem so very happy.,
