Interfered with laptop when idle

I like the mouse size (I have smallish hands), color (blue), and overall function, but unfortunately it crashes my laptop. Based off my laptop's behavior, it looks like the wireless transceiver was sending periodic signals to the laptop every minute or two, even when the mouse itself was off, keeping the laptop awake when it was Idle. The screen would turn off then come back on every minute or two, and the laptop stopped going into sleep (regardless of what power/screen settings I used). I would find my laptop with either a BSOD, or that it had spontaneously rebooted since the last time I used it. Sometimes this happened after being idle for only 30 minutes, or sometimes it took all night, but the laptop did not go a day without at least one crash over the 2 weeks I used this mouse. It took a while to narrow this issue down to the mouse because at the same time I added this mouse to my setup, I also added a new keyboard and external monitors. But since swapping this mouse for my old mini Logitech wireless travel mouse, the crashes have stopped. So I am returning this mouse and buying another Logitech mouse (non-travel sized). Good news is that this mouse never crashed the laptop while in use, so I didn't lose any work, but I was so frustrated with the issue that I was contemplating reloading Windows had I not figured it out when I did, which would have been a pain, particularity since it would not have solved the problem. BTW, the laptop is 3 years old (Dell), always kept up to date, and it never had this behavior before. But this was the first Microsoft wireless mouse I have used with it, and likely the last one. I really did like the mouse though, and hopefully my case is an isolated one.

I have purchased several of the Micorsoft 4000 mouse series. I bought this one because it was a different color which I needed for a couple laptops and a desktop in one room. Since a mouse is pretty much a mouse these days, I was confident I'd be fine. I gotta say the detents on the thumbwheel of this mouse are not very likable. It jumps to predetermined spots when scrolling whereas a smooth scroll wheel is much more preferred. Otherwise it's just fine and looks plenty different to do what I needed it to accomplish.

I have used the Microsoft mouse for years and have loved it. I recently purchased a new Dell computer and the mouse doesn't seem to get a good signal. I don't know if its related to Windows 10 or if it's because the computer is a screen/tower in one (not sure if thats the correct term, but basically, there's no tower). I had this same mouse in black and it started having the issue where it would cut out while I was working so I bought this one thinking the black one was just old and well used. This one has had the same issue since the day I opened it. I don't want to have to go back to a wired mouse, but with this computer I may have to, sadly! I can only use the mouse if I set it on the left side of the screen (by the USB port) which doesn't work well considering I'm right handed. Still a great product, just wish it worked better with my computer

Defective on the 3rd day.

It was working great until the 3rd day. When I turn the scroll wheel to go up, it would go up with no problem but when I reversed to go down, it continue to only scroll up. Or if I started scrolling down and I change so that I could scroll up, it will continue to scroll down. So it seems that it will go in one direction that I would start out with. I'm really disappointed with this mouse.

As always, Amazon customer service is top notch in their business and why I shop with them frequently. They are sending me a replacement and will have it in 2 days. Thanks Amazon! You get 5 plus stars for your customer service.

Poor battery life, issues with unresponseiveness

This mouse will probably suit your needs just fine if you are a light PC user and don't need to use a mouse for long periods of time. However, this mouse's battery life is poor and you have to turn it off every time you're done using it which could be a major inconvenience unless you don't mind. Furthermore, I have noticed that sometimes the connection between the mouse and the transceiver will cut out and the mouse will be come unresponsive... I'm fairly sure that this is an issue with the mouse as I have tried all three different USB ports on my computer to test it. And the mouse had fairly fresh batteries when this issue occurred.

Bottom Line: If you don't mind turning the mouse on and off between uses, and you don't use the mouse that often, then this will probably work fine for you. However, it is not the best quality and I would not recommend this to someone who is a more heavy mouse user.

I have had 3 of the same exact mice now and they all do the same thing. Occasionally they shut off and will not turn on for about 6 hours. no matter what I do if I take batteries out or hit the sync button or use a different computer...Other then that when they turn on they work perfectly. This particular one I have had for about 4 months and it has shut off 3 times...
