It seems like an impossible task to cover all of South America in one travel guide due to its wide and diverse nature. Clearly, if you're only going to one region or country, this would not be the best guide for you. That being said, I'm impressed with the overall coverage given in this guide and would recommend it for someone going to several different places in South America. The pictures are beautiful, the language is precise and interesting, and the instructions are quite clear. I often use this for a general reference book too, since there are good explanations of key historical events of the continent. Recommended!

This is a great guide for getting started planning travel to South America. As the title suggests, it's a "best of" vs details on every attraction in every city. It's a great starting point and has wonderful pictures as well.

A trip to Chile and Argentina won't be complete without a visit to Tierra del Fuego and Ushuaia but Ushuaia is missing in this book. Maybe the editor thinks Ushuaia is not in the "TOP Sights" of South America. But the town is rich in the history and famous for The End of the World train. A must visit!
