Finding Your Life's Purpose Audible Audiolibro – Grabación original
When we hear the word “purpose,” we tend to think about striving to reach a certain goal in the future. “There is another kind of purpose that has nothing to do with time,” explains Eckhart Tolle. “This is your primary purpose—to be here fully in whatever you do so that the preciousness of the present moment remains paramount.” With Finding Your Life’s Purpose, Eckhart presents a two-session program on making the transition from “thought-based” living to the realization of presence as the foundation for all you do, exploring:
- How to overcome the dissatisfaction and conflict produced by dysfunctional states of consciousness.
- Dissolving the veil of mind for the direct realization that everything is sacred and alive.
- Honoring the world of form without identifying with it.
- Love as the recognition of the true Self that underlies everyone.
“You are the consciousness that illuminates the world. Know yourself as that—that’s what life wants with you,” teaches Eckhart. Finding Your Life’s Purpose is an invitation to a new way of being, free from conditioned patterns of reactivity and unhappiness, and aligned with the greater intelligence of the universe itself.

My 18 year old son was in the car with me with me when I first listened to the CDs and he was intrigued by them. My son said that E. Tolle's voice was very soothing and peaceful, and that the author had some interesting things to say. My son hasn't ready any of Tolle's books. So I guess the material in this CD set is good for both, people who have never heard of Tolle (like my son) and for people who already know him (like me).
The two CDs make up one talk, so it's best if you listen to them in sequence the first time around. After that, I've left any of the two disks in the car CD player and when it plays I get something more out of it that somehow I didn't get the first time.
The author leads you to a discussion of our life's purpose, he speaks about a primary and a secondary purpose and how by focusing too much on our secondary purpose, we may miss out on the primary purpose of our lives, which is to live in the now. The talk leaves you with a deep sense of peace and joy.
Today my son asked me to play "that guy's CD, the one with the soothing voice". I guess he's ready to read E. Tolle's books.
This is basically a summation of "The Power of Now" given during a talk he held - Shorter and in a more relaxed tone.
I liked this a lot, but the "Power of Now" is still my home base.
