Una película divertida, sin pretensiones. Buena adaptación del libro aunque, por supuesto, se pierden muchos detalles y se creó una que otra escena (que no están en el libro) para dar fluidez a la historia. Bonitos paisajes, tanto urbanos como naturales.

I must have watched a different film to many of the other reviewers. I was looking forward to it based on so many good reviews, but couldn't believe how boring and derivative it was. Very disappointed. Yes, some of the 'comic relief' wasn't so bad and if you haven't visited Singapore it probably looks quite unusual; aside from that it covered the same old story of rich guy falls for ordinary gal but his family disapproves - will they or won't they? The female lead's behaviour in particular didn't map out. In the US she's reasonably 'sensible. After all she's supposed to be a 'professor' (although that's about the same as a UK teacher), but in Singapore she behaves much of the time like a silly girl. Whole thing a waste of an evening.

Ok.... good things..... Singapore looks fantastic and there are one or two enjoyable comedy moments from the 'comedy family'. Yes, there's a mainly asian cast and it's good to see this in a Hollywood film. Unfortunately, I now run out of good things to say about the film..... Is there a plot? Eh..... yes, but it's paper thin. Are characters introduced and developed? Eh..... a bit but not much.... Does anything much happen? Eh.... not much and mostly, it appears arbitrary. Is the narrative well paced? Eh..... no, it's a bit tedious. Are the characters engaging and interesting? Eh..... not really..... Sorry, Singapore looks fantastic but that's not enough.....

Nothing very original. An Asian copy of those horrible "reality" shows labout nonentities with a lot of money leading vapid , empty lives...cue the K's; the various "housewives";all those women determined to show off by spending as much money as they can to seek the admiration and approval of other emptyheads.
Except for the poor Asian who has " benefitted" from being poor and having to work in the enobling cullture of the USA. Predictable tosh.

This is an excellent rom-com, which even I, as a man not usually impressed by the genre, really enjoyed. Set in New York, and Singapore the story involves a young, successful, Chinese-American woman who is introduced to her finance's family in Singapore - and what a family. Good fun, uplifting stuff as she learns to navigate the many challenges

Crazy Rich Asians is a wonderful film not because of its representation of Asians on the big screen but because of the message it presents, the importance of family! Thsi is a fun film, full of laughs, heart and tons of charm not to mention some tender moments that are just touching! After watching it I'm eagerly awaiting the two upcoming sequels that have been green lit since its success.
