It would have been better if you could access all the episodes individually, instead of them all running one in front of the other. If you took each disc out to watch something else, then you have to go through all the language settings again, fast forward to where you left off the last episode, and hopefully getting to the next episode you want to watch in the sequence. The episodes are as remembered from when they first came on TV in the late 1970's early 1980's, and still good fun. The only thing really is the fact that you have to start all over again each time, hence my rating it as 4star only. Otherwise good value. I am hoping that the continuing series 2-6 are better organised in the future.

Still shines for a new younger audience

A lot of TV shows of my childhood have aged terribly and can only be watched for nostalgia. However, this one still shines in terms of acting, speed and content. My eldest old son absolutely loves it and we have repeatedly watched it between ages about 10-12 - cops on bikes, crims and 70s funky music, what more could you want?

Still great "family values" TV where the good guys are good, the bad guys are bad and good always wins out in the end. Also the classic pairing of the straight cop Jon and and an immature Poncherello who learns lessons the hard way.

For those who want a further breakdown the rating is PG for all but one episode which is a 12 where a female hitch-hiker is sexually threatened. Also one episode features a nudist volleyball team but nothing is shown though much is inferred.

CHiPs 6 disc set for the first series. Well packaged and standard menu for episodes.
The intro theme was different for this first series, (too many trumpets) which is a shame.
The well-known intro theme came into Series 2 (not this set).
Still a great show, and brings back memories of cycling in twos as a kid.

The scripts are cheesy, but work. There's enough in each episode to keep you interested.
End of the day, it's two guys patrolling on kawasaki m/c so don't expect CGI spaceships or super powers.

If you're in your 40s like me, it's worth a go if around £10

Just had to buy this Police Series watched it in the 70s , although the Police Motorcycles are a bit dated now ,still a Brilliant Police Series to watch .Brings back Great memories I even remember some of the episodes .

Stories of the California Highway Patrol ,CHP Motorcycle Cops were referred to as Chips or Chippies .
